isaka

Isaka is a music producer and visual artist known for her cryptic xenofeminist aesthetics. Her bass-heavy productions morph between erratic rhythms, futuristic sound design, and otherworldly vocal chops, perfect for both cerebral listening and large soundsystem bodywork.

Behind the decks she blends bass-forward club music from around the world, mixing everything from hyperdub to hyperpop in a style she dubs “hyperbass”. Visually, she is known for her intricate makeup, hyper-realistic 3D creations, and generative art with synthetic sheen. You can catch her productions and art on labels such as DECISIONS, Infinite Machine, and Hyperboloid and in mixes by the likes of ZULI, Air Max ‘97, Aquarian, CCL, M.E.S.H., Yaeji, and re:ni.

In the years since the pandemic, Isaka has been concocting a live A/V set incorporating iridescent cyber realms that writhe and mutate in sync with her hectic hyper bass productions. Inspired by terminally-online trans gamer aesthetics, quantum information theory, as well as demoscene and live-coding, Isaka transforms herself live with makeup and electronic prosthetics in a “get-ready-with-me” style webcam broadcast intertwined with real-time graphics. The show is constructed with custom GLSL shaders, WebGL, Generative AI, holograms, and Touchdesigner linked with Ableton, all operated with a pink PS5 controller.
